Claire Furlong – Architect, painter

"The Quarry is my quiet sanctuary, far removed from the commercial realities of life."

Claire’s interest in art started at an early age and continued with the creation of abstract pottery sculptures inspired by natural form.

She qualified as an Architect in the United Kingdom and practices in Whangarei where she specialises in educational buildings and environmentally friendly housing. Claire mainly paints at the Quarry.  Inspiration for her work comes from translating abstract thoughts and ideas into a visual medium.
