Linda Sabbage – Painter, mixed media, art teacher

'I would like to think that my visual work makes the "invisible" visible.'

As well as being an accomplished painter – her works are held in private and public collections in New Zealand, Europe, Canada and Australia – Linda is a highly experienced art teacher. She attended Elam School of Fine Arts where she studied art and education for a Bachelor of Education degree. She taught at schools in Auckland and Hamilton (where her students designed and painted murals for the Maori Queen Dame Te Atairangikaahu.

In 2000 Linda received a  Teacher of the Year award and Woolf Fisher Fellowship (enabling leading teachers to study overseas) then taught at A.S. Neill’s Summerhill School, an alternative ‘free’ school in Suffolk.  Linda taught art for 8 years in Mallorca, with her students consistently gaining top national and international grades for their work.
