Te Rangitu Netana at work
8 - Te Rangitu Netana
Te Rangitu Netana is a Traditional Ta Moko Artist of Ngapuhi, Ngati Wai and Te Arawa tribal descent. He has been practicing his artform for over 20 years, and is experienced in both modern machine and traditional chisel methods of tattooing.
Te Rangitu has travelled extensively throughout his career, working with tattoo masters from many cultures, including Hawaiian, Samoan and European.
After spending many years travelling and working at international tattoo conventions, showcasing his work and sharing his culture, he is now back in the Far North, living and working in Waipapa. He enjoys working amongst his own people, teaching youth when the opportunity arises, and raising awareness of the spiritual and educational benefits of Ta Moko.
Te Rangitu is looking forward to having a studio at Quarry Arts where he can base himself whilst in Whangarei.
