EBANZ is committed to promoting the Art and Science of Earth Building.

EBANZ is a network of enthusiastic and experienced volunteers, who are interested in promoting environmentally friendly, sustainable building, with a focus on earth as a construction material. EBANZ publishes this bi-monthly magazine, runs an interactive web site, lobbies government organisations, and organises an Annual Conference and regional events.

The Quarry Arts Centre was the birthplace of EBANZ. The Quarry has long been a seed bed for the modern earth building. The first NZ earthbuilding conference was held in the Quarry, drawing such stalwarts as Richard and Bella Walker all the way from Nelson.

The logo was designed by Ron de Rooy founder of Te Kowhai Print Trust where the first EBANZ magazines were produced, even today with membership spread throughout New Zealand the Quarry Arts Centre still acts as office for EBANZ.
