Oamaru Stone Carving - Evening Classes
This course is designed to make stone carving an accessible medium for everyone. From design – through hand carving techniques – to finishing this course will cover it all giving a great base for the absolute beginner or a refining of techniques for the intermediate carver.

Beginners Clay
Wednesday evening 5.30-7.30
For those starting from scratch to those wanting to develop their ceramic art. Adult students will be guided through selecting clay, clay working methods, right through to the firing process.

Untutored Life Drawing Classes
Monday Evenings 5:30-7:30
Start Date to be confirmed.
While there will be a facilitator for this class, there will be no tutor. This gives all students the chance to experiment and work on your own practice at your own pace. Open to drawers, painters and sculptors at any level of experience.

TeensArt With Lena Zankl
This new class is aimed at Teenage students (over 10 years and upwards) who want to learn how to paint and draw.
The skills that are taught are especially helpful in school art lessons, as the basis is in observation, drawing skills and painting skills.
For the older students, the emphasis is on finding a unique way to express yourself through your creativity

Learn To Paint With Lena Zankl
These popular classes are now available here at The Quarry Art Centre, with Lena Zankl who teaches all painting media, with a skills-based, one- to -one emphasis. Learn how to work with Oils and Acrylics in the Joy of Painting (Friday 9.30 - 12). No experience is necessary, and all students work at their own level. The underpinning skills taught are: colour theory, composition, creativity in painting, what materials to use and why, problem solving, handling paint with confidence and much more…
