In this workshop, participants will apply low‑fire glaze to bisque‑fired ceramic pieces created during the School Holidays.

This workshop is the perfect follow‑up for anyone who attended a clay workshop during the School Holidays and would now like to glaze and add colour to their creations by applying with brushes and sponges.

We welcome all those looking to glaze their ceramic works, including those who have already made bisque‑fired ceramic work outside of our school holiday programme. Ages older than our school holiday programme are also welcome to book. Firing volumes above standard Quarry workshop limits may incur additional charges at the usual public kiln firing rates. If you are unfamiliar with submitting your own work for firing, please follow this link to learn more about our community electric kilns KILN FAQ – Quarry Arts Centre. *Quarter shelf size: 300mm (w) × 230mm (d) × 150mm (h)

Please note: you must be able to identify the clay type your work is made from (brand and make). If it is not a clay sold in our Quarry shop, you must know its recommended firing temperatures.

For siblings or friends in the same booking that are younger/older than the recommended age range, please check in with us first before booking via email programmes@quarryarts.org

What children need to bring:

● Suitable clothes that are okay for getting a bit dirty and potentially stained

● Clothing for the weather conditions (although our main room has a heat pump)

● pack some snacks and a drink

Parents/guardians/care-givers need to register kids on arrival and provide a designated pick-up person.  Please advise us ahead of time via email of any important considerations (e.g. medical, allergies, custodial). We are unable to cater for unassisted children with special learning or behavioural support needs - we welcome support carers, but please check with us before booking.

Clay work will be kiln fired with us and ready for collection late February.
