Meet the people who run the Quarry Arts Centre
Manager – Sally Lush
Sally is responsible for the overall management of the Quarry Arts Centre. Her initial training was in chemistry, but her working life has been in the arts, as a gallery manager, curator and mentor. Sally studied a number of courses in the creative arts, and has established and run her own galleries. She is also an artist, focusing on sculpture and paintings. Gallery curator – Sally Spicer
Sally designs and runs the exhibition programme and other major events, and handles marketing and communications. Sally is a graduate of the Elam School of Fine Arts, and has a background in jewellery design and print-making. Sally is an artist specialising in portrait painting. Front of house and workshop co-ordinator – Christie Brophy
Christie is often the first port of call for visitors to the Quarry. She runs the front desk and ceramics shop,and handles all workshop bookings and enquiries. Christie has a background in teaching workshops for people with disabilities. Contact Christie for information about the workshop programme, including bookings.
Cafe and gardens – Dell Pryor
Dell operates the cafe at the Quarry Arts Centre, serving up delicious home made goodies. She also looks after the gardens. Dell is an artist specialising in sculpture, and she also tutors at the Quarry.
Ceramics and kiln technician – Israel Dawson
Israel runs the electric kilns and maintains the ceramics facilities. He is also a potter and ceramicist.
