Advanced and Intermediate Wheel Workshops
(Places by application – email workshops@quarryarts.org to express interest either Class).
Experienced tutor and Northland ceramicist Julie Cromwell will lead a 4 Day workshops for Intermediate and Advanced to further teach the wheel beyond beginner level. – $290 per class (clay, firing, glaze not included).
Intermediate dates: Tuesday 1st – Friday 4th October 2024
Advanced dates: Monday 7th – Thursday 10th October 2024
INTERMEDIATE CLASS
Intermediate Prerequisites: A basic understanding and experience with wheel.
You must be able to 1. centre clay, 2. open out and pull the clay up evenly.
Julie will share a range of intermediate techniques including lids, handles, spouts and throwing on bats. She is also willing to provide assistance with your own projects and ideas.

ADVANCED CLASS
Advanced Wheel Prerequisites: Proficient in centring clay, opening out and pulling up, and able to attach and work on bats.
In this class you will explore more complex techniques such as: teapots – throwing and assembling, cookware – e.g. Tagine’s, casserole dishes etc, large work techniques, and areas that you would like to develop and explore.
