This exhibition is a cross-section of paintings by Lois Going. She has a wide variety of subject matter, all in acrylic. Colour and combinations are important to Lois, who mostly paints abstract or landscape.
All works are for sale.
Opens Friday 4th February, 5pm
Closes Saturday 5th March, 4.30pm
Lois has worked with various groups and tutors that cover a huge range of subjects making for very interesting and challenging painting. This has extended her skills and ideas, helping to develop her own style.
LOIS AS AN ARTIST
“I started painting with a small group on Natalie Findlay’s property. After her death the six of us formed “The Party House” Group, meeting weekly in Badham’s old cottage. We later moved to what is now Reyburn Houses’ pottery room.
I have attended most of Elena Nikolaeva’s workshops, as well as various other workshops over the years. A group showing of Nikolaeva’s students is currently on at Reyburn House – http://www.reyburnhouse.co.nz
I was also an active member of ‘North Gallery’ and an administrator there for five years. My husband and I have visited many galleries worldwide, as well as on my own.
To sum it up – In my art I am particularly interested in abstract art and have a love for colour.”
