It is a privilege to honour Joan’s beautiful artistic memory by fulfilling her final exhibition 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘚𝘘𝘜𝘈𝘙𝘌.
A master herself, Joan respected this in other disciplines, and her vision for curating 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘚𝘘𝘜𝘈𝘙𝘌 exhibition was to celebrate these accomplishments and dedications in other artists. Joan hand-picked a wide range of artists and craftspeople to join her in translating the concept around the square through their respective mediums, techniques, and artistic interpretations.
These talented and accomplished artists continue to work together to bring Joan’s vision to fruition. Jo Porter, Amorangi Hikuroa, Sally Spicer, Hamish O-B, Pete Cernis, Graham Johnson, Mariette Van Zuydam, Cecilia De Donatis, Virginia Guy, Dave Taylor, Robert Carter and Rosy & Rich.
This exhibition collects together silk and watercolour works, wood and stone carving, uku and ceramic art, acrylic and oil painting, photo intaglio and screen prints, cold wax painting, giclees of charcoal drawing and digital art.
