We are offering a new pilot kids wheel workshop. This is a great opportunity for kids that are passionate about working with clay. This will be a much more intensive learning experience than clay hand building. Our tutor is an experienced pottery wheel artist with many years working with young people.
The recommended ages are 11-15. We will consider kids aged under 11 on request (refer to more information below).
Participants must be able to make both dates and times.
Dates:
Friday 15th July (1pm – 4pm) &
Monday 18th July (1pm-3pm)
Cost:
$100 per participant (introductory offer for the pilot) – includes clay, tool set (to take home and keep), kiln firing. Excludes glazing.
There are some important things to know about this wheel workshop:
- This will be a great opportunity and a challenging learning experience
- It is preferable that participants have attended more than one clay handbuilding workshop previously
- Participants must be able to attend both sessions. For example, it is not possible to attend the Monday session without first completing the Friday workshop
- Subject to interest we will schedule more workshops in 2022. Please don’t be dissappointed if we are unable to include your child in the July workshop
- Contact us specifically for kids under 12 and we can discuss suitability of this workshop for them
- We have tried to make this workshop as affordable as possible, however, the cost reflects the very expensive nature of the materials, equipment and small class size of six students.
Expressions of interest are closed. The 15-18 July class is now full.
Please email workshops@quarryarts.org to join the priority waitlist for the next class during Term 3 after-school.
