At the heart of the Quarry lies Manawa, our iconic wood-firing kiln, where the ceramic community comes together under the Matariki stars for this annual wood-firing. The event spans 3 weeks from delivery to unloading and is open to all clay artists at any level by registration.

Delivery, Glazing & Firing Roster: MON 9th & TUE 10th JUNE | 1pm – 7pm Scallop Room
Loading of Manawa: WED 11th – WED 18th JUNE
Firing of Manawa: SAT 21st – SUN 22nd JUNE | 36-hour firing
Unloading of Manawa: SAT 28th JUNE | 12pm
