Join us Easter Weekend for a two-day workshop with experienced visiting tutor Jill Kennett. Designed for both beginners and seasoned clay artists, participants will create their own large sculptural ceramic piece using hand-building techniques. You’ll learn to build with coils from a rounded base, shape and control your form, and experiment with creating tunnels and illusion lines. This workshop also offers a glimpse into Otago Polytechnic’s Diploma of Art and Design (Ceramics) course, providing a rich and inspiring experience to unleash your creativity and connect with fellow clay artists.
Tutor Jill Kennett has an established career in education and art making. With over 30 years of experience as a clay artist, her hand-built sculptural works take on large forms that are abstract and evolve from one to the next. Jill is based in Hawkes Bay, and currently delivers the Diploma of Art and Design (Ceramics) for Otago Polytechnic at Taradale Pottery Club.
Bring your passion for creativity and join us for this weekend long workshop in building up an incredible ceramic design of your own!
Clay and kiln firing are included.
