Join us for an exciting two-day clay workshop with the talented Dell Pryor! Immerse yourself in the world of sculpting as you learn to create a life-sized head and shoulders. Enhance your creative realism skills in a fun, hands-on environment! Throughout this clay workshop, you’ll work in 3D and discover how to sculpt with engaging and detail-oriented techniques. Recommended for those with handbuilding skills looking to hone their skills further, come ready to explore this incredible process. 

Dell Pryor is a New Zealand sculptor based in Whangārei with over 30 years of experience specializing in figurative and portrait sculptures. She is a studio holder and tutor here at the Quarry Arts Centre and is a friend to many in the community. Throughout her career, Dell has created numerous portrait sculptures; her sculptures are available for viewing and purchase at various galleries, including the Gallery Helena Bay in New Zealand. Her dedication to the arts and her community involvement have made her a respected figure in New Zealand’s art scene.

The workshop runs from 10 am until 3 pm across Saturday and Sunday including breaks for refreshments and lunch.

The Quarry will provide you with tools for this workshop and include clay and bisque kiln firing. 

 

Please bring:

Suitable clothing and footwear, apron

Snacks, lunch and refreshments you may require

Suitable for 18 years and older.

Workshops are held at the Quarry Arts Centre operated by the Northland Craft Trust, a registered not-for-profit charitable trust.

We kindly ask all attendees to take a moment to clean their tools and table and mop the floor around their working area before departing. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a tidy environment, and all cleaning tools are provided for your convenience. Thank you for helping us keep our space welcoming and pleasant for everyone!

Workshop Terms and Conditions

Reservation and Payment: Your workshop spot is confirmed only once full payment has been received. Payment must be completed before the workshop begins. We reserve the right to deny entry if the full fee has not been paid.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted up to one week before the workshop and will be refunded minus a 15% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within seven days of the workshop.

Transfers: You are allowed to transfer your place to another person, whether by gift or sale.

Missed Classes: If you miss a class, regardless of notice, rescheduling, refunds, make-up sessions are not provided. We will do our best to offer an alternative session if possible, subject to availability.

Workshop Cancellation by Us: Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will attempt to reschedule or provide a full refund.

Minimum Participants: A minimum of 4 participants is required for this workshop to proceed. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop and issue a full refund if this number is not met.
