Workshop Terms and Conditions

We hope you enjoy your experience with The Quarry Arts Centre. Our aim is to support you in creating beautiful work in a healthy, collaborative, inclusive, fun-filled and respectful studio space. Please ensure you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions before you book a class, workshop or course.
The Quarry Arts Centre reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.
Workshops are held at the Quarry Arts Centre, 21 Selwyn Avenue, Whangārei, operated by the Northland Craft Trust, a registered not-for-profit charitable trust.
Contract of Sale: Completion of our booking process and making a deposit or full payment constitutes your understanding and acceptance of our terms and conditions and thus forms your contract with The Quarry Arts Centre.
Reservation and Payment: Your workshop spot is confirmed only once full payment has been received. Payment must be completed before the workshop begins. We reserve the right to deny entry if the full fee has not been paid.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted up to 14 days before the workshop and will be input as store credit to your customer profile minus a 15% cancellation fee. We will do our best to offer an alternative session, if possible, subject to availability. No refunds or store credit will be issued for cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop.
Store credit will expire after 12 months of being input onto your customer profile.
Transfers: You are allowed to transfer your place to another person, whether by gift or sale.
Late Attendance: It is at the discretion of the Teacher to not accept a late arrival on a class, workshop or course if it is potentially detrimental to fellow students. This will be treated as a late cancellation.
Missed Classes: If you miss a class, regardless of notice, rescheduling, refunds, make-up sessions are not provided.
Workshop Cancellation by Us: Should we need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we will attempt to reschedule or provide a full refund.
The Quarry Arts Centre reserves the right to change the tutor on advertised courses and replace that tutor with another suitable tutor without advertising those changes or refunding course fees.
Minimum Participants: A minimum of 4 participants is required for this workshop to proceed. We reserve the right to cancel the workshop and issue a full refund if this number is not met.
Photography and video recording may occur during your session. These may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the Quarry Arts Centre’s website, social media platforms, printed publications, internal reporting, and sharing with affiliated sponsors. Permission will be requested prior to capturing any identifiable images or footage of individuals.
Data Protection: Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will use the information to process your booking, to provide the class, workshop or course and to inform you about similar classes, workshops or courses which we provide, unless you tell us that you do not want to receive this information. Any personal data you provide will be held in computer storage.
The Quarry Arts Centre cannot be held responsible for any personal property you or your attendee brings onto the premises, and we cannot be liable for any loss or damage to such property.
Please spend the final 15 minutes of class cleaning your tools and workspace. Maintaining a tidy, shared studio is everyone's responsibility. All equipment must be returned and surfaces wiped down. Cleaning supplies are provided—your care and cooperation help keep the Quarry Arts Centre welcoming and inspiring for all.
Safety and Compliance: We are committed to ensuring your safety and enjoyment during our workshops. Please adhere to all Quarry Arts Centre health and safety policies and processes.
Collection of Works: We recommend you collect your finished work as soon as possible after your class, workshop or course to help keep our storage area clear therefore avoiding damage. If finished ceramic work is not collected within 3 months of the end of the class, workshop or course we will sadly have to dispose of it.
Agreement: By enrolling in any of our workshops, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions.
