Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones is a welcoming and inclusive painting programme held at the Quarry Arts Centre. For over a decade, this programme has been a space for those who are differently-abled to explore artistic practice and grow creative skills in a supportive environment. Under the guidance of tutor Jane Whiting, participants will develop their artistic ability and painting skills through term based lesson plans, creating works of art of their very own.
Attendees painting projects will grow throughout the year, at the end of the year the Quarry Arts Centre celebrates their progress and individuality in a group exhibition.
Whether you're just beginning your artistic journey or you're already making work and seeking a creative community, Stepping Stones offers a space to learn, connect, and create. The term-based curriculum introduces foundational painting techniques, including colour theory, lighting, and surface exploration, with all introductory materials provided.
We warmly welcome carers and support workers to attend alongside participants. If this applies to your situation, we kindly ask that you contact us before booking so we can discuss how best to support.
