About this workshop:
All beginners and advanced artists are welcome and will enjoy this series of weekly workshops.
Acrylics are among the most versatile painting mediums available—and when combined with mixed media techniques, they open up even more creative possibilities. In these workshops led by tutor Nelly van der Oord, artists of all ability levels will be guided through working with acrylic paint alongside a variety of complementary materials such as collage, texture mediums, and more. You'll learn techniques, tricks, and tips unique to both acrylics and mixed media approaches.
This is a week-by-week program developed to explore abstracts and the human form in painting, encouraging experimentation and personal expression through layered materials and dynamic compositions.
Course structure: Eight 3 hour weekly workshops
Course cost per student (18 yrs+): $27.50 per week OR EIGHT weeks $200.00 (excludes all materials) Weekly payment option is available online or pay at the Yvonne Rust Gallery Shop
Materials: Bring own materials with a recommended starting materials list as follows:
Watercolour paper (A4 / A3 size)
- Thick drawing paper (cartridge paper A4 / A3)
- Acrylic paints and basic brush set. Paints should include primary colours, black and white
- Pencil and rubber
- Paint Palette or just a large old plate
- Water container
