Pre-Fire Meeting: Scallop Room | 28th MAY 5.30pm
Registration Payment Due: TUES 2nd JUNE | 4pm 
Delivery & Glazing + Firing Roster: Art Shed | FRI 5th / SAT 6th / SUN 7th | By roster: 10am - 1pm or 1pm - 4pm
Loading of Manawa: TUES 9th – THURS 18th JUNE
Firing of Manawa: SAT 20th – SUN 21st JUNE | 36-hour firing
Unloading of Manawa: SAT 27th JUNE | 12pm

At the heart of the Quarry lies Manawa, our iconic wood-firing kiln, where the ceramic community comes together under the Matariki stars for this annual wood-firing. The event spans 3 weeks from delivery to unloading and is open to all clay artists at any level by registration. 

REGISTRATION DETAILS: 

• Registration Fee - $60 per person = 1 shelf +  $40 per person = ½ shelf  | includes: QAC Wood-fired House Glazes + a spot on the Firing Roster + an invite to the Manawa Matariki  '26 Exhibition curated by Rosie Parsonson ( www.rosyandrich.nz), and ensures your inclusion on the firing roster. This fee helps cover kiln hire, firewood, room hire, glazes, cones, wadding, shelf wash, and kiln maintenance.

If you have large work or more than one shelf’s worth, we can likely accommodate it. Please email admin@quarryarts.org for a discussion as soon as possible.   If you have more than one shelf's worth of work, bring them to the delivery. We will assess space availability during loading. If there is extra space, the cost will be $40 for each additional half shelf which will be invoiced after loading.

FIRING INFORMATION: 

● Cone 9 - 10 Stoneware Firing (1280°C - 1300°C). 

● We require all work to be bisque-fired 

● All works must be made from stoneware clays

● Shelf Dimensions (450mm W x 350mm D x 250mm H)

IMPORTANT DATES: 

● Registration Deadline: TUE 2nd June | 4pm 

○ The registration fee must be paid by this date to secure your spot. 

● Friday 5^th - Saturday 6^th - Sunday 7^th  June | delivery, glazing and firing rosters 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm | Art Shed

○ A range of QAC house glazes will be available. 

○ Put your name down on the firing rosters you want to be involved with.

○ Works won’t accepted after 7pm on Tuesday 10th 

○ If you cannot attend these delivery dates, please contact us to arrange a suitable time. 

● Loading of Manawa: Tuesday 9^th  - Thursday 18^th June

● Firing of Manawa: Saturday 20^th - Sunday 21st June | 36-hour firing

● Unloading of Manawa: Sat 27 June 12pm
