Potting on the Parkie’s Path is a solo exhibition by Whangarei potter Mike Regan, tracing his creative journey after a Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2021. The exhibition includes a timeline of ceramic works made post-diagnosis, alongside a selection of "PPP" — Pots Prior to Parkinson’s — offering a personal and artistic context.
This body of work explores not only the physical and emotional impacts of living with Parkinson’s but also the joy and therapy found in continued creativity. With characteristic humour and honesty, Mike reflects on ageing, resilience, and the simple pleasure of "playing with mud." A few collaborative pieces feature in the show celebrate connection and community.
After cost proceeds from the exhibition will go toward Parkinson’s community support initiatives in Whangarei.
