Ceramic Florals with Madison Carroll

Location:  Scallop Room, Quarry Arts Centre, 21 Selwyn Ave

Join us for an exciting workshop with emerging artist Madison Carroll.  In this workshop, Carroll will guide you through various sculptural techniques to explore the highly imaginative world of ceramic floral plants. You will coil, pinch, texture, decorate and push your imagination to develop a botanical form from another time or place. Exploring concepts of fragility, vulnerability, and the beauty of our natural planet.

This workshop will be accompanying Carolls exhibition in the Yvonne Rust Gallery; Step into The Garden – a ceramic exhibition by Madison Carroll exploring the hidden patterns of life, from the microscopic to the cosmic. Inspired by organic forms and imagined worlds, Carroll’s intricate hand-built works celebrate the beauty and fragility of nature. 

+This workshop is suitable for beginners, though must have a basic understanding of clay. 

Please bring:

• Your basic tool kits - wire, wooden knife, sharp knife, ribs. 
• Suitable clothing and foot ware, apron. 
• Lunch, snacks, refreshments you may require

Macs Studio White will be provided, feel free to bring you own clay if you prefer. 

Firing is NOT included. If you wish to fire, standard Quarry firing rates apply.
