Community firing at Quarry Arts Centre
Our wood-fired kilns are a rare treasure, and we also have electric and raku kilns onsite. Through our community firing service, local artists and hobbyists can bring in their own pottery to be fired, transforming raw clay into lasting works of art.

A space to make, share, and inspire
Once an abandoned quarry and now a thriving creative space, the Quarry Arts Centre in Whangārei is one of Northland’s most vibrant community arts centres. Here, you’ll find pottery and art exhibitions, workshops, community kiln firings, gallery and exhibition spaces for hire, artist studios, The Maker’s Shop, Amber’s Kitchen, and a well-stocked art and arts supply store.
